"Alternative Granular Media for Stormwater Bioretention and Filtration Applications"

Link to the Abstract

In 2014, Stalite Environmental published a supplemental guide on how lightweight aggregate functions in Bioretention cells and similar stormwater BMP's. To obtain a print or electronic copy of this supplement, contact the Stalite Environmental office.

Why We Support Research

Over the years, Stalite Environmental has sponsored research studies at different institutions. The most recent studies have been facilitated by NC State University (Raleigh, NC) and University of North Carolina in Charlotte (NC). It is from these studies that we have been able to determine the viability of lightweight aggregate as a stormwater treatment media.
